“The Cloud”: 1. An abstract concept used to define the shared digital spaces through which we store our knowledge and share information. 2. A ubiquitous element of contemporary work and learning practices. 3. A platform across which we share ideas
The table utilized laser-sinter technology to 3D print a metal base structure. This table will be made from 100% titanium, printed in the form of Rhombic Dodecohedrons, which tesselate to form the optical illusion of cubes. The base contains 3 structural arches formed by the tesselated dodecohedrons, with additional dedecohedrons modeled in place to form a “swarm effect”. The model is printed in sections to accomodate for the size of the print bed and then spot-welded together to form the structure.
